The America Team for Freedom for Eritrea talked with two Eritreans who came to the United States recently. One of the individuals is a regular citizen of Eritrea who got an opportunity to come to the United States as an immigrant. The following is a brief account of his recent experience in connection with his travel to the United States.

Das Amerikanische Team »Freiheit für Eritrea« konnte mit zwei Eritreern sprechen, die kürzlich in die USA kamen. Einer von ihnen berichtete uns über die Situation in Asmara und auf dem Land in Eritrea. Er verließ Ende 2008 Eritrea und kam im Februar 2009 in die USA.

The America Team for Freedom for Eritrea met and talked with two Eritreans who came to the United States recently. One of the individuals has shared with us how conditions are in the countryside, as well as in Asmara. He left Eritrea in late 2008 and came to the US in February, 2009.

Schon seit einiger Zeit hat das diktatorische Regime in Eritrea eine abscheuliche Politik "gezielter Tötungen" für Eritrea angeordnet, die auf diejenigen zielt, die aus dem Land zu fliehen versuchen. Viele junge Menschen wurden und werden von den Häschern des Regimes an der Grenze erschossen. Eines der abscheulichsten Verbrechen ist das, das in der Nacht des 31. Dezember 2008 an sechs eritreischen männlichen Jugendlichen begangen wurde.

It has been quite some time now since the dictatorial regime in Eritrea has imposed its “shoot-to-kill” heinous policy on Eritreans who try to escape the country. Many young people were shot to death along the borders by the henchmen of the regime and this crime is continuing unabated. One of the most heinous crimes perpetrated by the Eritrean regime’s soldiers is the one, which was committed on the night of December 31, 2008 on six Eritrean teenager boys.
